Insurance & Pricing FAQ

One of the most common questions we hear is: “Does insurance cover this?” We believe in complete pricing transparency, so here is everything you need to know about what our services cost and what insurance typically covers.

Our Pricing Philosophy

Radiant Holistic Health is a self-pay wellness clinic. We keep our pricing straightforward with no hidden fees, surprise charges, or complicated billing. You will always know what a service costs before you commit.

We have structured our pricing to be competitive and accessible — often significantly less than what you would find at larger hospital-affiliated clinics or national chains.

Does Insurance Cover Hormone Therapy?

Short answer: It depends on the type.

Some forms of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) are covered by insurance when prescribed for diagnosed conditions like menopause or hypogonadism. Oral estrogen and oral progesterone, in particular, are often sent to your regular pharmacy and covered by most insurance plans.

However, bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) using pellets, compounded creams, or customized formulations is typically not covered by most insurance plans, as insurers classify these as elective or non-formulary.

Our BHRT pricing:

  • Initial consultation: $100
  • Initial lab work: $225
  • Pellet therapy: $400 per cycle (approximately every 3 months)
  • Oral, creams, and injectables: $100-$200 per month (varies by treatment)

Some medications — particularly oral estrogen and progesterone — are covered by most insurance plans through your regular pharmacy. Compounded hormones, creams, and pellets are self-pay.

Does Insurance Cover Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)?

Short answer: Sometimes, but with limitations.

Insurance may cover testosterone replacement when blood work confirms clinically low testosterone (typically below 300 ng/dL). However, coverage varies widely by plan, and many insurers require multiple low readings, specific symptoms documentation, and prior authorization.

At Radiant Holistic Health, our TRT program is designed to eliminate the insurance hassle:

TRT pricing:

  • Initial consultation: $100
  • Initial lab work: $225
  • Monthly membership: $150/month (includes visits, medications, and labs)

Our all-inclusive monthly membership is often more affordable than TRT through insurance when you factor in specialist copays, lab copays, and pharmacy costs.

Does Insurance Cover Medical Weight Loss?

Short answer: Generally no, for self-pay programs.

Traditional weight loss support through insurance is inconsistent and often limited to brief appointments with rushed advice. Our medical weight loss program is a self-pay service with transparent pricing and personalized care.

Weight loss program pricing:

  • Initial consultation: $100 (includes InBody screening, health history, and physical exam)
  • Ongoing treatment: Contact us for current pricing based on your personalized plan

Does Insurance Cover Microneedling?

Short answer: No.

Microneedling is classified as a cosmetic/aesthetic procedure by insurance companies. This applies to all variations of microneedling.

Our microneedling pricing:

  • Facial microneedling: $400 per treatment / $1,000 for 3
  • Hair restoration microneedling: $600 per treatment / $2,200 for 4

Does Insurance Cover Thyroid Optimization?

Short answer: Basic testing yes, comprehensive testing often no.

Most insurance plans cover a basic TSH test but may not cover the full thyroid panel (Free T3, Free T4, reverse T3, thyroid antibodies) that a functional approach requires. We help patients get the comprehensive testing they need for proper optimization, and we will be transparent about any out-of-pocket costs.

Consultation Fees

All consultations at Radiant Holistic Health are charged because they run approximately one hour and involve a thorough evaluation with Hannah. Our initial consultation is $100, which includes your health history review, physical exam, and personalized treatment plan.

We do not offer free consultations. We believe that the time, expertise, and attention you receive in a one-hour appointment with a nurse practitioner is genuinely valuable — and charging for it ensures we can give every patient the time they deserve.

Why Self-Pay Can Be Better

We know “self-pay” can sound like a drawback, but here is what our patients consistently tell us:

  1. No referral runaround. You do not need a primary care referral to see us. Call and book.
  2. No prior authorization delays. Treatment starts when you are ready, not when an insurance company approves it.
  3. More time with your provider. Insurance-based clinics often limit visits to 10-15 minutes. We take the time to listen, evaluate, and build a real plan.
  4. Transparent costs. You know exactly what you will pay. No surprise bills, no balance billing, no coding disputes.
  5. Better treatment options. Insurance formularies limit what medications your doctor can prescribe. We can recommend the best treatment for you — not just the one your plan covers.
