BHRT for Women — Bioidentical Hormone Therapy in the North Little Rock / Maumelle Area
Hormones control more than most people realize — your energy, your sleep, your mood, your weight, your mental clarity, your libido, and your ability to feel like yourself. When they fall out of balance, everything shifts. And the frustrating part is that many providers either dismiss the symptoms or treat them one at a time without ever looking at the bigger picture.
At Radiant Holistic Health, we take a different approach. Hannah Blaylock, APRN, specializes in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for women, using a functional health framework that treats the root cause of hormonal imbalance — not just the symptoms showing up on the surface.
What Are Bioidentical Hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are derived from plant sources and are molecularly identical to the hormones your body naturally produces. Unlike synthetic hormones, which have a different molecular structure, bioidentical hormones are designed to be recognized and used by your body the way its own hormones would be.
This matters because your body does not have to “translate” a foreign molecule. The result is often fewer side effects and a more natural response compared to conventional hormone replacement.
Symptoms of Hormonal Imbalance
Hormonal decline and imbalance can begin well before menopause. Many women in their 30s and 40s experience symptoms for years before anyone connects the dots. Common signs include:
- Persistent fatigue that sleep does not fix
- Insomnia or disrupted sleep — falling asleep, staying asleep, or both
- Brain fog — difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, mental sluggishness
- Low libido or loss of interest in intimacy
- Unexplained weight gain or inability to lose weight despite effort
- Mood swings, irritability, or anxiety that feel out of character
- Hot flashes and night sweats
- Hair thinning or changes in skin quality
- Irregular periods or worsening PMS
- Depression or a general feeling that something is “off”
If you are approaching or in perimenopause or menopause, these symptoms can be especially disruptive. The hormonal shifts that begin in your late 30s and 40s — declining estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone — affect virtually every system in your body. You are not imagining it, and you do not have to just push through it.
BHRT for Women
We offer multiple delivery methods because hormone therapy is not one-size-fits-all. The best option depends on your symptoms, hormone levels, lifestyle, and personal preference.
Hormone Pellet Therapy — $400 (every 3 months)
Small, bioidentical hormone pellets are inserted just beneath the skin in a quick, in-office procedure. They release a steady, consistent dose of hormones over approximately three months — no daily pills, no remembering creams, no fluctuations. Many women find pellets to be the most convenient and effective delivery method.
Oral, Creams, and Injectable Hormones — $100 to $200 per month
For women who prefer non-pellet options, we offer bioidentical hormones in oral, topical cream, and injectable forms. These provide more flexibility in dosing adjustments and can be tailored as your needs change over time. Monthly cost varies based on the specific treatment and form used.
Insurance note: Some medications — particularly oral estrogen and oral progesterone — are sent to your regular pharmacy and are covered by most insurance plans. Compounded hormones, creams, and pellets are self-pay. We will talk through your options during your consultation so you know exactly what to expect.
All women’s hormone plans include:
- Office visits with Hannah
- Lab monitoring
- Ongoing dose adjustments
- Compounded hormones included with your treatment plan
- 10% off skincare, supplements, and other services
PCOS and Hormonal Balance
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common hormonal conditions in women of reproductive age, and it is frequently underdiagnosed or poorly managed. Symptoms like irregular periods, stubborn weight gain, acne, thinning hair, and difficulty with fertility can all trace back to the hormonal imbalances at the root of PCOS.
At Radiant Holistic Health, we take a functional approach to PCOS. Rather than simply prescribing birth control to mask symptoms, we dig into the underlying drivers — insulin resistance, elevated androgens, inflammation, and adrenal dysfunction. Through comprehensive lab work, targeted hormone therapy, and lifestyle strategies, we help women with PCOS regain control of their cycles, their weight, and their overall well-being.
If you have been diagnosed with PCOS — or suspect you may have it — a thorough evaluation is the first step. We will look at the full picture and build a plan that addresses your specific hormonal profile.
Getting Started — What to Expect
Initial Visit — $100
Your first appointment is a thorough evaluation. Hannah reviews your complete health history, discusses your symptoms in detail, performs a physical exam, and orders comprehensive lab work. This is not a 10-minute appointment — we take the time to understand what you are experiencing and why.
Initial Lab Work — $225
We run a complete hormone panel along with thyroid and other relevant markers. This is far more detailed than the basic bloodwork most providers order. We need the full picture to build an effective treatment plan.
Your Treatment Plan
Once lab results are in, Hannah creates a personalized protocol based on your specific hormone levels, symptoms, and health goals. We discuss all available options, explain the reasoning behind our recommendations, and make sure you feel confident in the plan before we begin.
Ongoing Monitoring
Hormone optimization is not a “set it and forget it” process. We monitor your levels and symptoms regularly, making adjustments as your body responds. The goal is to find the sweet spot where you feel your best — and keep you there.
Beyond Hormones — Thyroid Optimization
Hormones do not operate in isolation. Thyroid dysfunction is one of the most common — and most commonly missed — contributors to fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, and mood disturbance. We offer comprehensive thyroid optimization as part of our hormone services, going well beyond the standard TSH test to evaluate the full thyroid picture.
What Our Patients Are Saying
Tracey shared that after starting hormone therapy at Radiant Holistic Health, her “brain fog and low energy are gone.” She says she finally feels like herself again — something she had not experienced in years.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between bioidentical and synthetic hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are molecularly identical to the hormones your body produces naturally and are derived from plant sources. Synthetic hormones have a different molecular structure, which can lead to more side effects and a less natural response. We use bioidentical hormones at Radiant Holistic Health.
How much does bioidentical hormone replacement therapy cost?
Pellet therapy is $400 every three months, and oral, cream, or injectable options range from $100 to $200 per month depending on the treatment. The initial visit is $100 and initial labs are $225. Some oral hormone medications are covered by insurance through your regular pharmacy. All women’s hormone plans also include 10% off skincare, supplements, and other services.
How long does it take to feel results?
Many patients notice initial improvements within two to four weeks — better sleep, more energy, improved mood. However, it typically takes three to six months to fully dial in your dosing and reach optimal results. Hormone optimization is not instant, and we want to set realistic expectations so you can stay patient through the process. The good news: once you are dialed in, patients consistently tell us they wish they had done it years sooner.
Is BHRT safe?
Bioidentical hormone therapy has been used for decades and is supported by extensive research. As with any medical treatment, safety depends on proper evaluation, appropriate dosing, and ongoing monitoring — all of which are central to our approach. Hannah reviews your health history, labs, and risk factors thoroughly before recommending any therapy.
What about hormone therapy for men?
We offer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) as a separate program designed specifically for men. Visit our TRT for Men page for details on symptoms, treatment options, and pricing.
Will I need to be on hormones forever?
Treatment duration depends on your individual situation, age, and health goals. Some patients use BHRT for a defined period to get through a transition like perimenopause. Others choose to continue long-term for sustained quality of life. We reassess regularly and always respect your preferences.
Can BHRT help with perimenopause — not just menopause?
Absolutely. Many of our patients are in their late 30s and 40s, experiencing the hormonal shifts of perimenopause well before menopause officially arrives. Symptoms like irregular cycles, worsening PMS, sleep disruption, anxiety, and brain fog can all be addressed with properly managed hormone therapy.
Can BHRT help with PCOS?
Yes. PCOS is a hormonal condition, and bioidentical hormone therapy can be part of a comprehensive management plan. We address the underlying imbalances — insulin resistance, elevated androgens, and inflammation — rather than just masking symptoms. Every PCOS treatment plan is individualized based on your specific lab work and symptoms.
You Deserve to Feel Like Yourself Again
